    About the Book

Inviting God to Your Wedding is not just about planning for an event. It’s about preparing for a miracle. Written with honesty, wisdom, and humor by Touched By An Angel Executive Producer Martha Williamson, with a special chapter for men by her husband and Co-Executive Producer Jon Andersen, this inspiring book is a “wedding handbook” for your spirit and your soul.

Inviting God to Your Wedding is filled with ideas, suggestions, and commonsense advice that focus on the most important aspect of every wedding: the coming together of a man and a woman “in the sight of God.”

    Reviews

“Increasingly, couples today are searching for means to add dimensions to their marriage — substance which can only be found in our Creator’s wisdom and grace. Without religious pretense but with genuine spiritual insight, Martha Williamson offers a mountain of truth and a fountain of life available for practical application. There is even more than an angel touch here — there is something of the promise of God’s presence Himself available for your wedding.”

    – Jack W. Hayford, Litt.D., Pastor/President The Church On The Way, The King’s Seminary

“Marriages are made in heaven but ruined on earth. Martha Williamson and Jon Andersen show you, in precise and tangible ways and with the characteristic outpourings of their loving, generous hearts, how to make your marriage healthy, and sometimes even heavenly.”

    – Rabbi Joseph Telushkin, Author of The Book of Jewish Values: A Day-by-Day Guide To Ethical Living

“This book is sooooo healing and is so much better than any wedding planning book I have seen out there. To be honest, it is less about to-do lists and more about getting your head, heart, and soul right, as well as determining what is important to a ceremony and what is NOT”

    – Diana (A Reader)

“I would totally recommend to any bride to be to help keep in mind what’s important (and not) when planning their big day!”

    – Shannon (A Reader)

     Amazon.com Review

Martha Williamson, executive producer of the popular drama series Touched by an Angel, teamed up with author Robin Sheets to rework four of the most memorable episodes into a polished short-story format. The two give behind-the-scenes background on each story and on the history of the show itself. Rarely has a television program had such a large impact on its viewers and garnered such a faithful following. This book, tells how it all came about through the grace of God and the unbending faith of its cast, crew, and viewers. –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

     From Booklist

If books are obsolete, no one’s told the TV honchos: half the current series have issued tie-in volumes this year. Williamson, executive producer and frequent writer of CBS’ unexpectedly succesful Touched by an Angel, uses three types of material in her celebration of the show. Part one describes a practical “miracle” –the fact the show got on the air, stayed on the air, and found a broad enough audience to earn top-10 ratings. In part two, coauthor Sheets offers short-story versions of four scripts written or cowritten by Williamson: “Interview with an Angel,” “There, but for the Grace of God,” “An Unexpected Snow,” and “Jacob’s Ladder.” The third section supplies brief profiles of stars Roma Downey, Della Reese, and John Dye. Response from viewers is scattered throughout the book. Fans will be thrilled to find credits appended for the nearly 50 episodes aired by December 22, 1996: each includes episode title, initial airdate, author (and source author where applicable), director, and guest actors and their characters’ names. Given Touched by an Angel‘s popularity, patron interest is likely. Mary Carroll
